Dear Oregon Republican Leaders:

“These are the times which try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country, but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of men and women.”  The Crisis, by Thomas Paine, December 23, 1776

It is in this spirit that I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Chair of the Oregon Republican Party and ask you, a winter Republican patriot, for your vote, support, and commitment of time and talent, to put our party back on the path to victory in 2014 and beyond!

We may be down but are in no way, out! The constitutional ideals that Oregon Republicans espouse have carried our nation to prominence for over two hundred years. We must stand tall and show Oregonians that these core principles will bring Oregon and America back from the pit of one-party government, oppressive taxes, unreasonable regulation, and stealth socialism. Republicans believe in personal freedom, the free market, respect for Constitutional rights, and limited/affordable government, as do most Americans!

It’s time to show people what we stand for, and not allow the other side to maliciously label/brand our party. We are not “bigots, racists, or haters of women.” Many of us are women! We must reach out to all groups with the truth about the Oregon Republican Party, beginning now, not just during election cycles.

It’s time to raise the spirit of our own members by reminding them of our great legacy - the party that was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists, and winning easily only six years later, with our first presidential candidate, Abraham Lincoln.

It’s time to communicate this better, first to our party members, so that they can be ambassadors for the cause. Next, together with county leaders, reach out to the vast majority of Oregonians who agree with our core values to recruit and field a strong PCP team. Changing hearts and minds is our best real hope for future generations. This is a “people business” and it will take new revolutionary strategies to reach citizens and win votes.

I am up to this task.  My professional and volunteer job experience includes: corporate executive, entrepreneur, author and publisher (two books), small business owner, community leader, political advocate, PCP, and a legislative candidate. I have started multiple organizations, such as U-Choose Issues Forum in 2009. These varied roles have uniquely equipped me to tackle this job. I am also  a recent breast cancer survivor which has prepared me to take  on any challenge!

This may be our winter of post election defeat, and the Republican spring will come, but only with our continuing commitment to conservative principles. I am a fighter and a team player, and like you, I love America and our Constitution. I am willing to commit to our cause - the cause of freedom! Will you join me?
